By David Reed, UT EditorLondon-IAL Consultants Ltd, based in London, has been awarded the contract for a study of the North American polyurethanes market, on behalf of the Alliance for the Polyurethanes Industry (API).The survey, which aims to detail the polyurethane industry's situation in the NAFTA region (United States, Canada and Mexico), will involve more than 400 interviews with end users, processors, and raw material manufacturers during the first half of 2005, IAL said in a 1 Dec. announcement. In addition, IAL says it will focus on two key aspects: the CASE (coatings, adhesives, sealants and elastomers) sector of the PU market, and the fast-growing industry in Mexico."We're really looking forward to the challenge of producing a useful marketing tool for the API and its members, as well as assisting the organisation to grow its membership and knowledge of some new and exciting sectors", said Angela Austin, one of the IAL team members responsible for this project.Previously, IAL has conducted reports on the polyurethanes industry in Europe and Asia-Pacific; this new assignment allows the group to complete its first study of a major part of the global market, the IAL statement added.The main results of the NAFTA study will be presented at the API Technical Conference and Trade Fair to be held 17-19 Oct. 2005 in Houston, Texas. The final report will also be available for purchase at this event and afterwards through the API, the IAL statement concluded."
