By Liz White, UT contributing editorPreston, UK-Resin and additives manufacturer Industrial Copolymers Ltd has been recognised as having excellent staff training and development: the firm gained a 'People and People Results' accolade in the North West Excellence Awards in November.
These awards-from the local business community in the north of England-showcase firms which achieve high levels of excellence measured against the Business Excellence Model-a powerful business management tool, according to Preston-based ICL.
The assessment panel which evaluated ICL over a number of months said the firm "has a strong people-orientated culture which understands the importance of its staff to the success of the business. The approach to valuing and developing staff clearly comes from the top and is deployed at all levels throughout the business."
ICL makes a range of waterborne polyurethane and PU /acrylic dispersions, as well as prepolymers and oxazolidines. The firm recently extended its operations, opening a manufacturing facility in Connecticut.
