Hallam, Australia -- IDM Instruments Pty Ltd says it has recently made one of its newly designed high-speed mixers for a multi-national polyurethane producer to use for testing.
Hallam, Australia-based IDM explains that this instrument "has been designed for the rapid mixing of foam compounds to produce a well-mixed sample pat," which can be poured to form a sample for testing and quality control.
The mixer uses stainless steel for corrosion protection and ease of cleaning. A servo motor drives the mixing shaft for automated mixing and variable mixing speeds. It also allows the instrument to maintain constant torque, and to produce high speeds, says the company.
Three mixing times and three different test speeds are possible in making a sample pat. Pneumatic cylinders clamp the cup in position for mixing.
IDM says the machine is operated by a two-hand control pendant with digital timers for measuring curing times.
