Kings Lynn, UK -- IFS Chemicals Group, a UK polyurethane chemical specialist, has expanded its range of Envirofoam insulation foams, the company said recently.
The new NFG range, designed for manufacturing building panels, conventional composite panels, cold-room panels and SIPs (Structural Insulated Panels) uses a natural oil polyol derived from rapeseed, IFS said, adding that a one-step, low-energy, conversion process is used before being combined with conventional polyols to produce a material suitable for the production of a high-performance insulation foam.
According to IFS, the NFG product range also has grades of differing fire performance characteristics including: B2 polyurethane, B2 PIR (polyisocyanurate) foam and a high-index PIR for demanding applications, IFS said.
IFS has also announced it has become a member of a newly formed trade association, the UK Structural Insulated Panel Association.
The association provides information and support on the various issues and requirements within the area of SIP construction. Such activities include promoting the development of education and training on SIP technology, engaging with government and major public sector clients and collaboration with other organisations to work towards a more effective construction industry, IFS added.
