Bangkok -- International Möbel Group (IMG), a European foam manufacturer, is using Bayer MaterialScience's Bayfit polyurethane moulded foam system in the production of its high quality furniture in Thailand.
"We have very successfully tested the Bayfit moulded foam and found it well suited for our needs, which is to combine comfort, quality and reliability in the end product," said IMG's president, Nils Gunnar Hjellegjerde, in a 13 Dec statement. "We are currently using it at our Thai manufacturing facilities and plan also to use it at our new foam and upholstery factory in Vietnam," he added.
Norway-based IMG, which manufactures ergonomically designed furniture, said that it hopes to benefit from BMS' extensive knowledge.
Bayfit enables functional parts -- such as inner springs, supports, joints, fastenings or entire steel structures -- to be insert moulded and can be used to combine spectacular shapes with a high degree of functionality, and maximum comfort with top quality. According the Bayer, Bayfit makes it easy to incorporate inserts or to back-fill fabrics with foam - from super soft to extra hard. (ss)
