Preston, UK - Resin maker Industrial Copolymers, which was recently acquired by the Sika Group of Switzerland, will in future be known as Incorez Ltd. The company will trade under the new name from 1 April 2009, said a 20 March announcement.
"It was felt that the time had come to revamp the image into one that better suits the company's strategic objectives," commented Charles Lynch, sales & marketing director for Incorez. "We are a modern, progressive, global chemical company that prides itself in offering innovative custom-made solutions to the marketplace and therefore, we wanted our image to reflect this."
Dr Len Daniels, managing director, added that "customers already recognise the Incorez trademark, which is used as our brand name for polyurethane dispersions and epoxy hardeners, so hopefully the transition will be relatively seamless."
In the last five years, the company said, it has seen tremendous growth for Incorez, and claims to have become the world's leading manufacturer of specialist oxazolidine additives for the polyurethane coatings and sealants markets.
Since 1986, the Incorez range has also been widely exported, and includes oxazolidines, waterborne epoxy curing agents and waterborne polyurethane dispersions.
The company was previously owned by the Iotech Group and has a sister company - Incorez Corp. - in Connecticut, Maine, in the US. In January 2009, sealants and building products group Sika took control of the entire Iotech Group, which includes both Incorez units.
