Wilmington, North Carolina - Invista Specialty Materials is investing several million dollars at its two Terate aromatic polyester polyols manufacturing sites in Wilmington, North Carolina, and Vlissingen, the Netherlands.
These investments involve upgrades to boost global production volumes of the Terate HT polyols product line to help meet growing global demand for Invista's aromatic polyester polyols, the company said in a a 14 Aug news release
"Our customers are choosing our innovative Terate HT polyols because these products offer advances in ease of processing and efficiency in rigid foam manufacture, as well as improved adhesion to various substrates, including cold adhesion for spray applications," said Bill Trowell, global business director for Terate polyols.
The chemistry that forms the basis for the Terate HT polyols platform is the culmination of several years of research and development, customer trials and feedback, Invista said. It claimed the result is the development of a series of polyols with improved overall performance compared with current aromatic polyester polyols in the marketplace today.
Invista will produce Terate HT polyols and traditional Terate polyols at both sites.
The company supplies Terate polyols for a variety of applications including polyurethane and polyisocyanurate foams as well as in coatings, adhesives, elastomers and sealants.
