Wilmington, North Carolina - Invista Specialty Materials said it will make another investment at its manufacturing site to expand Terate HT aromatic polyester polyols capacity.
The polyols are used in polyisocyanurate (PIR) and polyurethane (PUR) foams, as well as a variety of cast, adhesive, sealant and elastomer (CASE) applications.
The latest investment-expected to be complete by January 2014-will make the HT line more easily available to customers in Europe and Asia.
In August 2012, Invista announced that it would invest in Wilmington,, and Vlissingen, Netherlands, to boost production. Investments at both sites were completed and commissioned in 2012.
"As we've made investments during the past six months, it has become clear that the Terate polyols product line has evolved to meet a wider range of customer needs, and this new image represents our ability to adapt to these changing needs," said Bill Trowell, global business director.
