Alexandria, Virginia - The recent 2009 International Sleep Products Association's (ISPA) Industry Conference and Exhibition welcomed over 220 mattress industry manufacturers, suppliers and, for the first time, retailers over a two-day educational and networking event held 4-6 Nov at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort and Spa in Bonita Springs, Florida.
Educational sessions covered a number of topics including sustainability initiatives and the promotion of responsible mattress disposal and how to understand and target customers using social media like Twitter and Facebook, a 23 Nov ISPA statement said.
"ISPA offered a dynamic and engaging conference," said Kevin Toman, president of Englander Sleep Products. "It's great to come together as an industry to collaborate and learn. This helps us grow individually and collectively. I am confident with the direction ISPA is taking, and the success of this past Industry Conference is a direct reflection of the association and our industry as a whole," he added.
ISPA chairman Don Wright commented on the importance of staying connected when the economy is down, calling for everyone to tap into "the power of us - what we can do collectively through our association to find the opportunities that these challenging times present." (RD)
