Alexandria, Virginia - Members of the International Sleep Products Association (ISPA) will soon start receiving an e-newsletter, the ISPA Advocacy Connection, designed to keep them informed of the latest legislative and regulatory developments that affect the mattress industry.
ISPA said this monthly service will offer, "a succinct review of pending legislative and regulatory proposals," and offer information on new laws or regulations that affect bedding manufacturers and suppliers.
"With a new president and congress, it is more important than ever for ISPA to have effective representation before, and communicate with, congress and the Obama administration on issues that affect the mattress industry," noted Chris Hudgins, ISPA vice president of government relations and policy, and editor of the newsletter, in ISPA's 30 Jan announcement.
"The ISPA Advocacy Connection will keep members abreast of important policy issues that can impact their businesses, and will educate them on how to become an advocate for the industry."
ISPA members may also receive occasionally a "Call to Action," asking for grassroots support to influence lawmakers to take positions which support the industry. These alerts will give members to the ISPA Legislative Action Center, where they will find draft letters on specific issues that they can send to congress and policymakers.
