Alexandria, Virginia - The International Sleep Products Association (ISPA) has recently launched a new sustainability section on its website that features information on recycling used mattress components, green marketing rules in foreign markets, green chemistry and the Mattress Industry Sustainability Initiative.
ISPA wants to make consumers and the media understand that "mattress producers and their suppliers are taking environmentally sound and economically practical actions to improve the long-term sustainability of the industry," the association said 29 Oct.
"We've created the new sustainability section to not only keep our members abreast of green developments that affect our industry, but to give ISPA members tools that they can use to learn more about how to improve the environmental performance of their businesses and their products," said ISPA vice president Ryan Trainer.
"Members can use the site to locate used mattress component recycling facilities that may be operating near them, find outlets for recycled materials they want to sell, and learn about ISPA's efforts to improve the recycling of used mattress components," he added.
