Cuddalore, India-A Jaipur-based social organisation, in cooperation with the Neyveli Lignite Corp., has distributed 15 000 of the artificial 'Jaipur foot', made with polyurethane material, in Cuddalore. The feet were given at no charge to 10 000 people at a camp set up for the purpose, according to online Indian news service 23bharath.com.
Dr Prakash Sharma, of the social organisation Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata Samithi, said the Samithi had signed an agreement with ISRO (the Indian Space Research Organisation) to make the foot from polyurethane materials, used in rockets and satellites.
