Tokyo — Polyurethane production in Japan in June 2018 was 2.3% higher than in June 2017, according to figures from Japan’s Ministry of International Trade and Industry.
In total, Japan produced 17.4 kT of polyurethane in June 2018. This compares with 17kT in June 2017.
The country produced 10.6 kT of flexible foam in June 2018, down 222 tonne on the June 2017 figure. Japan produced 6.7 kT of rigid foam in June 2018 compared with 6.1 kT in the same month in 2017.
This is the 32st straight month that production has increased in the country, according MITI.
