Tokyo — Polyurethane production in Japan rose by 2.4% in September 2019, compared with the same month in 2018.
The figures come from Japan’s Ministry of International Trade and Industry.
In total, Japan produced 17.2 kT of polyurethane in September 2019 This compares with 16.77 kT in September 2018. The rise in production was 400 tonne.
The country produced 11.3 kT of flexible foam in September 2019 up 857 T on September 2018. The nation produced 5.8 kT of rigid foam in September 2019. This compares with 6.3 kT in the same month in 2018.
Overall, Japan produced 149.5 kT polyurethane between January and September 2019, compared with 151.4 kT in the same period in 2018. This is a decline of 1.3%.
