Tokyo — Polyurethane production in Japan fell by 6.49% in March 2019, compared with a fall of 5.17% in February 2019. This was the fourth consecutive monthly fall in production.
The figures come from Japan’s Ministry of International Trade and Industry.
In total, Japan produced 16.95 kT of polyurethane in March 2019. This compares with 18 kT in March 2018. The fall in production was 1176 tonne.
The country produced 11.05 kT of flexible foam in March 2018, down 262 tonne on March 2018. The nation produced 5.91 kT of rigid foam in March 2019. This compares with 6.15 kT in the same month in 2018.
Overall, Japan produced 16.96 kT polyurethane between January and March 2019, compared with 17.28 kT in the same period in 2018.
