Tokyo — Polyurethane production in Japan fell by 4.9% in June 2019, compared with the same month in 2018.
The figures come from Japan’s Ministry of International Trade and Industry.
In total, Japan produced 16.6 kT of polyurethane in June 2019. This compares with 17.45 kT in June 2018. The fall in production was 862 tonne.
The country produced 10.7 kT of flexible foam in June 2019 up 6 kT on June 2018. The nation produced 5.8 kT of rigid foam in June 2019. This compares with 6.8 kT in the same month in 2018.
Overall, Japan produced 99.1 kT polyurethane between January and June 2019, compared with 102.1 kT in the same period in 2018. This is a decline of 4.9%.
