Tokyo — Polyurethane production in Japan in February 2018 was 10% higher than in February 2017, according to figures from Japan’s Ministry of International Trade and Industry.
In total, Japan produced 17.3 kT of polyurethane in February 2018. This compares with 15.7kT in February 2017.
The country produced 13.3 kT of flexible foam in February 2018, compared with 10 kT in January 2017. Japan produced 6 kT of rigid foam in February 2018 compared with 5 kT in the same month in 2017.
This is the 28th straight month that production has increased in the country, according MITI. It is also the fifth consecutive month that production has grown by over 9%, according to MITI.
There is a two-month gap between the end of the reporting period and the information being published by MITI.
