Tokyo — Polyurethane production in Japan fell by 5% in January 2019, compared with a fall of 2.99% in December 2018. This was the second consecutive monthly fall in production.
The figures come from Japan’s Ministry of International Trade and Industry.
In total, Japan produced 15.8 kt of polyurethane in January 2019. This compares with 10 kT in January 2018. The fall in production was 445 tonne.
The country produced 9.988 kT of flexible foam in January 2018, down -164 tonne on January 2018. The nation produced 5.812 kT of rigid foam in January 2019. This compares with 5.976 kT in the same month in 2018.
