Tokyo — Cumulative polyurethane production in Japan in the year to August 2017 was 126.5kT up 11.2% on the 2016 period, according to figures from Japan’s Ministry of International Trade and Industry.
Month on month, Japan produced 9.4 kT flexible foam in July 2017 compared with 9.1 kT in August 2016. In terms of rigid foam, Japan produced 6.5 kT in August 2017 compared with 5.2 kT in the same month in 2016. This is the 22st straight month that production has increased in the country, according MITI.
There is a two month gap between the end of the reporting period and the information being published by MITI.
