By David Reed, UT EditorTokyo-Sakan Kan-No, a Japanese artist painting on high-gloss sprayed polyurethane, has recently created a series of works inspired by Miles Davis, one of the defining giants of modern jazz. Kan-No is also a musician and his latest works are being shown under the Trace name at the roentgenwerke art gallery in Tokyo's Roppongi district.The gallery describes his work: 'As though painting directly on the polished surface of a show-car body, Sakan Kan-No creates dancing intersections of form and formlessness.'"
