Tokyo — Polyurethane production in Japan fell by 8.9% in November 2019, compared with the same month in 2018. The figures come from Japan’s Ministry of International Trade and Industry.
In total, Japan produced 17.5 kT of polyurethane in November 2019. This compares with 19.19 kT in November 2018. The fall in production was 1704 tonnes.
The country produced 11.0 kT of flexible foam in November 2019, down 938 tonnes on November 2018. It produced 6.5 kT of rigid foam in November 2019, compared with 7.3 kT in the same month in 2018.
Overall, Japan produced 184.8 kT polyurethane between January and November 2019, compared with 189.9 kT in the same period in 2018. This is a decline of 2.7%.
