Tokyo — Polyurethane production in Japan fell by 2.0% in January 2020, compared with the same month in 2019.
In December 2019, the drop was 8.8%, and followed similar falls in October and November. The January numbers show a slowing rate of decline.
In total, Japan produced 15.5 kT of polyurethane in January 2019 This compares with 15.80 kT in January 2019. The fall in production was 311 tonne.
The country produced 10.2 kT of flexible foam in January 2020 up 182 tonne on January 2019. The nation produced 5.3 kT of rigid foam in January 2020. This compares with 5.8 kT in the same month in 2019.
