Guangzhou, China – Chinese machinery maker Jingzheng has upgraded its polyurethane sandwich panel machinery recently to tap China’s cold chain market.
China plans to equip each of its nearly 3,000 county-level districts with at least one large refrigerated warehouse for fresh food and drugs. This will supercharge demand for affordable sandwich panel machinery, Jingzheng’s marketing director Zhou E Jun told UTECH-polyurethane.com. Zhou was talking on the sidelines of the event which was held in Guangzhou 5-7 September.
Zhou also sees growing insulation demand from factories and farms, especially pig farms. China's central government wants local authorities to lift restrictions on pig farm building. This is in the wake of a nationwide spike in pork prices following an outbreak of African swine fever.
In total, Zhou expects the country to eventually have 5,000 sandwich panel production lines. Zhou said there are no more than 200 lines today.
Jingzheng has supplied ten sandwich panel lines to Muyuan Foodstuff, a Nanyang, Henan-based company. This pig-breeding heavyweight has farms in Northeast China. Here winter temperatures can drop to below -50°C. It has also supplied to overseas clients in Algeria and India.
Jingzheng’s annual sales have held steady at CNY 140m ($20m) over the past few years. Currently 70% of this comes from seating and other machinery for the automotive sector.
‘We have sold more than 80 auto seating lines to factories in China. This translates into 16m unit/year vehicle capacity. There are about 300-odd lines in total,’ said Zhou.
‘The segment is highly saturated, though,’ he added. ‘I don’t expect the auto sector to bring in the majority of our sales in the future.’
