Kragujevac, Serbia - Auto and seat supplier Johnson Controls has inaugurated a just-in-time (JIT) plant making complete seats for the new Fiat 500L in Kragujevac, Serbia.
The company also supplies complete interiors, including door panels, instrument panels, floor consoles and rear quarter panels, through a joint venture with PCMA, a division of Magneti Marelli SpA.
Johnson Controls' new seating plant is in the Grosnica Supplier Park near Kragujevac city. The interiors plant, a joint venture between Johnson Controls and Magneti Marelli, is located within the Fiat Automobiles Serbia (FAS) facility.
Both plants supply the FAS facility in Kragujevac, where Fiat's 500L compact MPV is assembled.
"We are very satisfied with our arrangement with Magneti Marelli," said Marzio Raveggi, vice president and general manager of Johnson Controls´ Fiat business unit, during the inauguration of the two plants.
Johnson Controls has been a long-term supplier to Fiat and has twice won a quality award from the Italian carmaker.
