Chengdu, China -- Automotive components provider Johnson Controls Inc. has said it will strengthen its production capacity in western China with a new facility in Chengdu.
Chongqing Yanfeng Johnson Controls Automotive Components Co. launched the Chengdu plant, which supplies complete seating, headliners, floor console carriers and related services to Volvo, to support production programs in China.
Construction began a year ago this month and the plant already has 100 employees. It focuses on supporting the Volvo Chengdu plant and the first project launched was the Volvo S60L.
As one of Johnson Controls' most important production bases in western China, the CQYFJC Chengdu plant expands its footprint in the region and strengthens the company's positioning in the Chinese automotive market.
"Johnson Controls is committed to exceeding our customers' increasing expectations. We continuously improve our capabilities together with our partners to deliver world-class products and services to automakers in China," said Johannes Roters, group vice president and general manager China, Johnson Control Automotive Experience.
"The new Chengdu plant once again showcases our dedication to the Chinese market, as well as our commitment to our customers and business partners," he added.
