Balikesir, Turkey – Turkish PU adhesives and construction chemicals producer Kalekim has made an investment of TRY 45m (EUR 6.93m). The company is expanding manufacturing in the west of Turkey.
Its PU product range includes IzoPur, a PU waterproofing system, and TechnoPur, a solvent-free PU adhesive, according to data from the company.
Kalekim exports to 80 countries worldwide, Altug Akbas, the company’s general manager, told local business daily Dunya. About 6% of Kalekim’s foreign sales are destined for the EU, 35% go to the Middle East, and the remaining 59% to other parts of the world.
In addition, while the company's manufacturing activities are focused on Turkey, Kalekim is also pursuing plans to launch production in Kenya and Algeria, according to Akbas.
Kalekim is a subsidiary of Turkey’s Kale Group. Set up in 1957, the multi-industry holding consists of 20 companies, and employs more than 5,000.
Kale Group claims to be among the top-five largest construction chemicals producers in Europe.
