Istanbul – Turkish PU manufacturer Kimpur has reported improved financial results for the first half of 2022. In the first six months of this year, the company’s revenues were up 126% year-on-year to TRY2.2bn (€120.9m). Gross profit rose by 125% to TRY378m.
The Turkish company reported EBITDA of TRY416m, up a robust 142% on the first six months of 2021.
Kimpur’s CEO Cavidan Karaca told local industry news site stendustri.com.tr that, with sales of about 26kT in the second quarter of 2022, the company outperformed its own projection, and plans to further increase its exports in the second half of this year.
‘We are increasing our capacity significantly, with investments on the way to make us a global player,’ Karaca said. In early 2023, she says the company plans to open new factory in Düzce in the north-west of Turkey. Construction work on the project began in the second quarter of this year.
The company is investing about TRY250m in the new factory in the town’s organised industrial zone. It will have a capacity of about 65kT/year.
Over the past five years, Kimpur has invested €5.5m on increasing its production capacity in Turkey. In another NW Turkey location, Gebze, it already has a facility that can make 120kT/year of polyurethane.
The Istanbul-headquartered company supplies its PU products to a wide range of industries. Its portfolio includes products for the footwear industry, flexible foams and rigid foams.
