Cavan, Ireland - Insulation manufacturer Kingspan has acquired the Thermabate division of building products group Cemex, based in Egham, UK.
"The Thermabate brand will be maintained within the Kingspan range and will add a new dimension to the scope of products and options offered to customers," said Kingspan in a 15 April announcement.
Thermabate makes a range of insulated cavity closers formed from PVC extrusions filled with polyurethane foam. Having the backing of the Kingspan brand will secure the future of the Thermabate product range and add to the potential for future growth and development, said Kingspan.
The Thermabate range will be manufactured at Kingspan's new insulation plant in Selby, UK.
Managing director of Kingspan Insulation, Peter Wilson commented, "The Thermabate range perfectly complements our existing products. We are also very excited about the potential for the Selby site, which we have been able to develop as a model of good manufacturing practice, and which will make it easier to maintain the level of service we offer in the north."
