Kingscourt, Ireland – More than a third of the energy used by Kingspan’s insulated panels division came from renewable resources in 2014 – one of a range of measures that boosted net profit by around a million euros.
According to Kingspan’s Sustainability Report, 2012 – 2014, between 2013 and 2014 the company saved 15GWh.
The insulated panels division also reduced its carbon emissions but almost half, an achievement which put the Kingspan Group on the CDP Climate A List.
Insulated panels plants in Sherburn, Holywell and Walsall, UK and Kingscourt in Ireland are zero waste to landfill.
The report said that even with the impact of acquisitions and increased production it was still on target to meet its aim to become a Zero net energy business by 2020, as well as to reach the mid-point of this objective by 2016.
