Munich, Germany - At K 2010, KraussMaffei (Hall 15, Booth C24) will announce the winner of its new BluePower Award for energy efficiency and resource savings.
The six nominations include two for reaction processing:
• Peguform GmbH (Germany) - "Integrated manufacturing cell with injection molding compounder and polyurethane system for the production of door modules with FiPG seal;" and
• Romeo RIM, Inc. (USA) - "New fiber spray process for painting parts in the mold"
"Our booth is a striking demonstration of how customers can rely on our machinery and know-how to make their processes more efficient and productive. We're also featuring key topics, such as automation, compliance with safety legislation and especially energy and resource efficiency, the latter two partly with our BluePower Award," said Dr Karlheinz Bourdon, from the board of KraussMaffei Technologies GmbH.
The BluePower Award recognises companies which show outstandingly effective applications, processes and/or integrated concepts that are using energy and other resources efficiently and thereby reducing production costs.
In injection moulding, the nominees are Miele & Cie. KG (Germany) for "Overall concept for increasing energy and resource efficiency;" and Gerresheimer AG (Germany) for, "Use of all-electric injection molding machines and end-to-end optimization to increase energy efficiency."
In extrusion, the two nominees are AGRU Kunststofftechnik GmbH (Austria) for "Saving resources with QuickSwitch extrusion lines;" and Geberit Produzione Spa (Italy) for "Direct extrusion processes and general optimization to increase energy efficiency."
The winner will be announced 28 Oct 2010, during the KraussMaffei booth evening at the K2010.
