Munich, Germany - Recent appointments in China and in research and development have strengthened KraussMaffei AG, "as the company continues its course of rapid growth," said a 22 Jan statement from the Munich-based polymer machinery maker.
In January 2008 Harald Schweitzer was appointed with overall responsibility for KraussMaffei activities in China. He will lead the company's drive to strengthen its presence in this growth market, the company said.
An experienced China hand, Schwitzer has held management posts in the region with Epcos and Puls GmbH since 2002. KraussMaffei has units in Shanghai, Zhejiang, Beijing und Shenzhen.
"The work of Harald Schweitzer will significantly strengthen our presence in China, as we strive to leverage the success of our Extrusion Technology division to our Injection Moulding and Reaction Process divisions," said Dietmar Straub, ceo of KraussMaffei.
KraussMaffei has also appointed Georg Holzinger as director of research and development for its biggest division, Injection Moulding Technology.
