Munich, Germany - KraussMaffei Berstorff has gained new customers in Russia for its pipe manufacturing technology.
The German machinery maker said 28 Jan 2013 that Isoljazionny Trubny Zawod (ITZ) of Peresvet, near Moscow, has "total confidence" in its large-diameter pipe technology and is seeking to enter a long-term relationship.
ITZ, a newcomer to high-density polyethylene (HDPE) production, will manufacture polyethylene-encased pipes with diameters of up to 1600 mm on the KraussMaffei line. These pipes are used for encasing polyurethane-encapsulated steel pipes, with the insulated pipes used in the oil/gas and construction sectors.
"We believe that in KraussMaffei Berstorff we have find a partner with whom we can enter into long-term business relations," commented ITZ managing director SN Frolov in a 29 Jan news release. "We would be gearing up production to the rapidly increasing demand for pre-encased pipes and are confident that the systems expertise of KraussMaffei Berstorff will give us a competitive edge."
ITZ will mainly distribute its products in Russia to end users in the oil and gas industry, as well as housing construction and municipal services.
KraussMaffei said it has also sold extrusion technology and a compounding plant to Polyplastic, based in Saratov, Russia, which is modernising its facilities with KM technology.
