Munich, Germany - Following its participation at the US plastics industry show, NPE2009, German machinery supplier KraussMaffei said it booked orders worth $6.5 million. This indicates that, when market conditions are tough, "plastics processors turn to a technology partner who can offer them long-term, future-proof cooperation," said the company's 3 July statement.
"From our point of view and considering the current crisis state of our industry, the NPE 2009 was very successful," commented Paul Caprio, president of KraussMaffei Corp., in the statement:
Caprio pointed out that, "We've been able to show our customers how multi-process technologies are the route to success even in very challenging market conditions." KraussMaffei's good orders came despite the severe economic downturn that has hit the American automotive industry, and in consequence many plastics processors, extremely hard. The orders represent are an increase of over 60 percent compared with those taken at NPE2006.
KraussMaffei, which claims to be the world's biggest supplier of plastics machinery, showed products from all three of its technology divisions -- Injection Moulding Technology, Extrusion Technology and Reaction Process Machinery -- including some multi-technology applications.
