Munich, Germany -- KraussMaffei's Reaction Process Machinery division celebrated an export milestone by selling its 100th mixing and metering machine in Turkey. The RIM-Star equipment was installed at automotive supplier Elele Döseme Sanayi ve Ticaret's plant in Bursa
Elele bought a RIM-Star Compact 40/16, and also installed a foam robot and an MK 12/18 ULP-2KVV-G mixing head with proportional technology. Steffen Bauer, KraussMaffei area sales manager based in Munich, points out, that, "It's only our proportional technology that makes possible the very fast shot cycles that are essential if users plan to manufacture different products on one and the same production system."
Elele is using the machine, its third RIM-Star, to produce seat squabs for automotive seating at Bursa. The city is a major centre for Turkey's automotive industry and is home to many carmakers and international components suppliers operate production plants, said KraussMaffei.
Elele representatives completed acceptance tests on the machine at KraussMaffei's plant in Munich on 8 Dec 2009, with the sale handled by Alp Chemicals, KraussMaffei's Istanbul-headquartered sales partner in Turkey.
Taner Erbil, a salesman at Alp Chemicals, noted that Elele installed its third RIM-Star as part of a capacity expansion. "Elele's decision to invest in this new machine not only shows the company's satisfaction with KraussMaffei's machinery and customer care, it is also a sign that the market for plastics processing machinery in Turkey is picking up again."
KraussMaffei said its RIM-Star range of PU mixing and meteringmachines offers solutions for every type of production challenge, withmodular engineering allowing the devices to be configured flexibly forthe best possible match to customer- and application-specificrequirements.
