Munich, Germany -- KraussMaffei said the central theme of its booth at Fakuma 2011 will be increasing productivity and efficiency in injection moulding cells.
The company, which makes machinery for use in the polyurethanes industry, said its varied offering of energy- and resource-efficient production solutions is bundled in its BluePower concept. The KraussMaffei display will feature low- to medium-tonnage machines - hydraulic and electric machines from its CX, AX and EX series, the company said in a 5 Aug press release.
The injection moulding machines are combined with fast linear robots or integrated industrial robots in flexible manufacturing cells with footprints up to 40 percent smaller than conventional automation solutions, according to KraussMaffei.
Dr Karlheinz Bourdon, responsible for injection moulding at KraussMaffei said its BluePower concept offered a wide choice of machine modules for energy savings with extra benefits
"The BluePower approach starts with systematically analysing every aspect of a specific production situation. Using this data, we develop a customized solution to boost energy efficiency," said Bourdon.
He added, "The custom approach enables us to identify savings potential very accurately so as to achieve the maximum cut in consumption. Energy consumption can be slashed by as much as 50 percent."
KraussMaffei will also be showcasing its CXW 200-380/160 SpinForm, an integrated machine designed to boost production efficiency, as well as industrial robots and other plastics manufacturing equipment.
