Munich, Germany - KraussMaffei will present its machinery and process technology for components made from fibre composite materials and polyurethane at the PU China 2013 trade show.
The company said it plans to showcase various structural and visible components produced using its technologies at the event, to be held 10-12 September in Nanjing, China.
"Today our machine and mould technology portfolio encompasses everything from injection moulding short glass fibre-reinforced parts to high-strength lightweight components with a complex mesh structure in a reactive matrix," commented Erich Fries, head of the composites/surfaces business of the reaction process machinery segment at KraussMaffei.
KraussMaffei added that its long fibre injection process, which it will present at the event, is particularly well-suited for large components for trucks and agricultural machinery. The process involves introducing a mixture of long glass fibres and polyurethane into an open mould using robotic control. After closing the mould, the mixture reacts to create the finished component. A roof module for a harvester and instrument panel manufactured this way will be on display.
