Kettering, UK - Chinese furniture company Eurosofa produces a leather-upholstered sofa or chair every 1.5 minutes of the working day, according to UK-based technology group Satra. The Chinese enterprise has recently become a Satra member to help ensure its products are fit for purpose before being sold into European, US, Australian and Asian markets.
According to Satra, the business was started by Vincent Hsu with a 150 000-sq.ft (13 935-sq.m) factory. It is now an 800 000 sq.ft operation and is looking to expand its manufacturing space to just under two million sq.ft - an increase of more than a hundred times the original size.
Eurosofa makes products for national retail chains looking for competitive prices to attract bargain hunters, but "also has its sights on the high end of the market, with products using more expensive raw materials," said a Satra statement.
