Massachusetts, US – Lanxess has signed up to distribute FRX Polymers’ Nofia flame retardants in a number of market segments. These include engineering polymers for high-performance applications such as textile coatings and printed circuit boards.
The polymeric flame retardants are manufactured for the US-based company at a facility in Antwerp. FRX anticipates that the partnership with Lanxess should enhance its global market share, with the products being offered in new sectors and geographies. It also expects that the alignment with Lanxess’ sustainability focus will help it capitalise on the growing demand for eco-friendly products.
“The relationship with Lanxess adds crucial technical and commercial resources to our unique chemical and engineering strengths, most notably with larger customers and for business development,” said Patrick Meuzers, CEO designate at FRX Polymers. “This will allow FRX to grow at a faster pace in several key segments while we also continue to grow at our existing broad customer base in a range of demanding applications.”
The two companies signed a memorandum of understanding back in 2023. It covered an exploration of this type of marketing agreement, as well as the potential for Lanxess to make one of Nofia’s key raw materials under a contract manufacturing arrangement.
