San Diego, California - Lifetime Lumber llc has expanded its sales distribution with distributor BlueLinx Corp. to include Northern California, stretching its reach to the whole state, a recent company statement said.
LifeTime Lumber makes an eco-friendly deck, dock, and fence material that uses thermoset polymers mixed with recycled mineral filler, the company said. Specifically, LifeTime uses fly ash gathered from power generation processes (usually coal-fired power stations) combined with polyurethane, to create a new composite alternative to wood.
"There is high demand for green products in general and a strong pull for affordable fire-rated materials in our market," said James Snakard, general manager for BlueLinx' Northern California Region. "Homeowners in the hills, coastal regions, and even urban areas are extremely concerned about the recent wildfires and how to protect against them. LifeTime Lumber is enabling BlueLinx to fill a high-demand niche in the market for a sustainable, reasonably priced product that is Class-A fire rated," he added.
LifeTime Lumber contains over 65 percent recycled content and complies with LEED requirements contributing valuable points in the 4.1 and 4.2 categories, the company added. (RD)"
