Detroit, Michigan -- The Woodbridge Group launched two product lines designed for optmising vehicle storage, CargoTUF structural load-floors and CargoSMART storage systems, during the Detroit automotive show in January. These products support and organise cargo in multi-purpose, sport utility and passenger vehicles, and, claims Woodbridge, offer "increased value at significantly lower weight."
The load-floors, made from a proprietary, lightweight reinforced PU, are designed for specific load, impact and acoustic properties, exploiting Woodbridge's expertise in urethane technologies,
CargoTUF products contain a high percentage of BioFoam pblant-based foam, a key component of Woodbridge's renewable resource strategy.
The polypropylene-based storage systems can be designed to complement the load-floor and include storage bins, removable convenience trays and customised tool caddies. The CargoSMART range allows drivers to capture and organize storage space under the load-floor that often goes unused, the company pointed out.
According to Charlie Burchi, product development manager, "CargoTUF structural load-floors are made from an innovative, environmentally viable, polyurethane composite material, to deliver maximum performance and minimum weight, at a competitive cost. In fact, we see weight savings of up to 40 percent, benchmarked against rigid plastic and wood products.
"Combining in-house design and engineering support, these products offer sport utility and passenger vehicles, optimize all vehicle storage potential and offer new levels of form and function. With consumers in mind, CargoTUF and CargoSMART systems offer intelligent storage solutions that provide outstanding function and utility," Burchi concluded.
