Alloa, Scotland -- The Fabric First Conference & Exhibition, being held 27 Feb 2013 in Birmingham, aims to present the benefits of adopting 'fabric first' methodologies in respect of modern energy-efficient residential construction.
The event, organised by UKTFA and UK SIPS (the UK Timber Frame Association and the UK Structural Insulated Panels group) brings together speakers from a broad spectrum of the industry in a programme covering policy and regulation, technology and case studies from within the residential sector.
The conference is supported by an exhibition of technology providers in low-energy building and networking sessions. Participants are likely to include developers, architects, contractors, RSLs (registered social landlords) and house-builders looking to deliver high-performance building fabric to create thermally efficient airtight structures.
Presenters include Paul King of the UKGBC (UK Green Building Council) discussing UK government policy in relation to low energy design; Bryan Woodley of Val-U-Therm on high volume low energy and passivhaus projects; Eamonn Connolly of SIPFIT on low-energy volumetric modular housing using SIPS technology.
