Shanghai – Lubrizol has opened a new Estane TPU production line at its manufacturing facility in Shanghai. It localises the manufacture of the products for the paint protection film (PPF) market, a sector that is growing in the Asia-Pacific region.
The company said that the material’s non-yellowing properties and good mechanical strength make it suitable for high-quality PPF. Localising production will enhance speed to market, it said, while ensuring the use of premium raw materials and advanced manufacturing processes, and strengthening partnerships across the value chain to drive the industry towards higher-value, sustainable growth.
According to Lubrizol, as well as vehicle protection, customers are seeking additional benefits from PPF products, such as colour customisation, aesthetic enhancements such as graphics, targeted protection for specific areas, and sustainability. It is looking to address these market demands via innovative technologies.
“China is an integral part of Lubrizol’s global innovation strategy,” said Henry Liu, VP of Lubrizol Asia Pacific. “We firmly believe that through enhanced localised production and full value-chain cooperation, we can create greater impact and drive the entire industry forward. Our continuous investment in local capability reflects our commitment.”
