Wickliffe, Ohio -- Lubrizol Corp. says its purchase of Spanish group Merquinsa, announced 3 Nov 2011, is now complete. The company said addition of Merquinsa, a leader in speciality thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPUs), will expand Lubrizol's Engineered Polymers business and strengthen its ability to meet the needs of its global customers.
All of Merquinsa's products are being integrated into the Lubrizol Engineered Polymers business. Key Merquinsa global commercial brands include Pearlstick, Pearlthane, Pearlbond, Pearlcoat, as well as the full ECO line of renewable-sourced TPU products .
"The addition of Merquinsa to our product portfolio is another example of how we continue to expand Lubrizol's Engineered Polymers business, providing enhanced product offerings and applications to meet the needs of our customers worldwide," said Rocco Mango, Lubrizol vice president and general manager, Estane Engineered Polymers, in a company statement.
