Cleveland, Ohio - Lubrizol LifeScience Polymers has expanded its line of Tecothane Soft polymers designed for health and medical applications.
The new Tecothane Soft thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) products have good mechanical properties, excellent resilience, and a range of material hardnesses. Lubrizol said products also have low specific gravity, and better alcohol and chemical resistance compared with standard polyurethanes.
"Making harder materials available means our customers can use Tecothane Soft TPU in a broader range of applications, including larger catheters and extension tubing," commented Ralf Hüther in a 13 Jan news release.
Lubrizol will present the new TPU at the 2013 Medical Design & Manufacturing West conference in Anaheim, California, on 12-14 Feb.
