Mumbai – Lubrizol is to open a state-of-the-art technology & innovation centre in the western Indian state of Maharashtra, close to many of its customers. The company said the aims of the centre are to advance breakthrough innovations, expand collaboration, and enhance speed to market for both Lubrizol and its customers.
Different lab capabilities will be co-located at the site, expanding on its existing regional technology centres of excellence. It will also include a customer experience centre allowing the company’s experts to co-develop products with customers and partners. The centre will be equipped with advance analytical capabilities, including automation and digital tools.
“Lubrizol has been synonymous with innovation for nearly 100 years, and this new centre represents a significant commitment to our innovation locally,” said Bhavana Bindra, Lubrizol’s MD for India, Middle East and Africa. “The Technology and Innovation Centre represents a significant commitment to our journey in the region. By bringing together expertise across multiple Lubrizol businesses, this facility will be a cornerstone of collaboration, automation and technological advancement for our teams and all those we serve.”
The facility is a first of this type for Lubrizol, and Rebecca Liebert, the company’s president and CEO, hopes it will serve as a model for future global centres. “Our innovation teams in India have already enabled significant innovation in the many industries we serve, including earning the company global customer innovation awards,” she said. “We expect this centre to expand on those successes.”
