Sao Paolo, Brazil -- Lubrizol Corp. will launch its new Isoplast and Pellethane thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPUs) - the two brands it acquired from Dow Chemical Co. -- at the 2009 BrasilPlast tradeshow in Sao Paulo
Lubrizol recently acquired the new brands as a part of the TPU business asset purchase from Dow Chemical. These products add to the Estane TPU product line, which now spans "the continuum between elastomeric and rigid TPU properties," according to Lubrizol.
• Pellethane TPUs are used in high-value elastomer applications including footwear, medical tubing, automotive, film and industrial/engineering applications.
• Isoplast engineering TPU resins are aimed at niche, speciality uses needing a unique combination of high-end engineering plastic properties including clarity, impact strength and chemical resistance.
Lubrizol says its Estane TPUs are "engineered, highly versatile thermoplastic elastomers," used in film extrusion, tubing, cable jacketing, injection moulding, calendaring and solution processes, End use markets lie in textiles, wire and cable, hose and tube, optical, industrial, agriculture and others, the company adds.
