Chennai, India – Manali Petrochemicals has announced plans to expand its capacity for polyester polyols in the next two years. INR400m ($5.15m) has been earmarked to add 9kT /year in two phases, with 90% capacity utilisation.
The company currently has a 50kT/year capacity for the polyols, operating at about 70% utilisation. This capacity will be expanded further, it said, if a sustainable supply of raw materials can be secured.
The polyols will be used in-house, and also used to make cast elastomers by Notedome in India and the UK. The remainder will be sold to the domestic and international markets.
