Charlotte, North Carolina – Machinery maker Maquinol highlighted the new dosing capacity of its Uniblock machine at UTECH North America.
Dubbed ‘a whole factory by itself’ by its developer, the system’s latest improvement is its automatic dosing process, said the firm’s sales manager, Sumya Diaz.
“The machine now comes with automatic dosing by weight. This machine works as a chemist for you, so anybody can make foam using it,” Diaz told Urethanes Technology International/UTECH-polyurethane.com at the event.
“Production parameters are set via a user-friendly touchscreen interface, software Maquinol developed itself. It’s a development removes the risk of human error entirely,” she added.
Uniblock machines can also be fitted with Co2, an addition that allows it to create the higher quality foam demanded by luxury auto manufacturers and also removes pinholes, she said.
The company also used UTECH North America to promote its automatic pillow injection line, which injects in closed mould using a two component system.
It injects the materials into the mould vertically and from the top. Such a set up removes the necessity for manual demoulding because the pillow simply drops from the mould when it is completed, Diaz said.
