By David Reed, UT EditorThetford, UK-A management buy-out of Peerless Plastics and Coatings, a leading provider of speciality plastic coatings, has secured the future of the business and the jobs of 28 staff.Peerless claims to be Europe's top applicator of UV-cured, clear and anti-reflective abrasion- and chemical-resistant coatings on most plastic substrates; many of its materials are polyurethane-based, a company spokesperson indicated.The 40-year-old company presently employs 28 people and is headed by James Grint as new owner and managing director. He has worked in the plastics industry for 18 years, eight of them at Peerless where he has worked his way up to become manager in the sales and operations areas.The MBO releases Peerless from previous constraints on its business development, a 20 July statement from the company said. This will enable the company to move forward much more quickly with new product development, essential for the future growth of the company, the statement added."We have some exceptional new products about to launch and they will revolutionise the market place that they are designed to work in," Grint said, in the prepared statement. "I believe I have the right people and the right products to expand the business locally, nationally and-with the recent appointment of a European Sales Manager-much further afield. We have an established base in Norfolk and are looking to grow the business from our base over the next few years," he added.Peerless offers a wide range of coating products and additional services including CNC machining, a cut-to-size service and fabrication, full-colour silk screen printing, pre-coating press drape forming and clean-room painting facilities."
