Mearthane kit aids PU design decisions
Designed to aid product designers making important material decisions in product and component design, the new tool includes samples that showcase the versatility of polyurethane chemistry.
The samples within the kit allow designers to get a feel for the different physical properties that can be specified with polyurethanes, the company says. Using these samples, an engineer can feel the differences in hardness, coefficient of friction, abrasion resistance and a variety of other properties. They also give an insight into how PU can be moulded or machined for prototypes or mass production.
‘The MPC DesignKit will help product designers in selecting materials that balance functionality and performance with cost and scalability,’ said MPC’s director of marketing, Alejandro Martinez.
